In the Gwinnett Tech Barbering program, you’ll receive specialized training in safety, sanitation, hair treatments and manipulations, cutting techniques, skincare, customer service, sales, and management.

Gwinnett Tech’s barbering program delivers comprehensive training in the art of hairstyling, covering a variety of cutting and grooming techniques suitable for all individuals. This program teaches the skills necessary to excel in the hairdressing field. The curriculum includes a broad spectrum of services, such as cutting, styling, and grooming, to ensure graduates can meet the wide-ranging needs of their clients. Furthermore, the program promotes inclusivity and respect for everyone, fostering a gender-neutral and welcoming atmosphere in any haircare setting.

What are my program options?

*Applicants for the Barbering for Cosmetologists (BF21) MUST hold a valid Georgia Master Cosmetologist license, which must be presented with the application.

What is the difference between a Master Barber and a Master Cosmetologist?

A Master Barber specializes in hair services, including cuts, shaves, styling, chemical services, and treatments, while catering to diverse clients. Master Cosmetologists are beauty-focused professionals who can offer a range of services, including skincare and nail treatments, extending beyond just hair styles, chemical services, and treatments.

How much will it cost?

Gwinnett Tech offers affordability at $100 per credit hour + fees. There are excellent opportunities for scholarships and financial aid with the HOPE Grant, HOPE Scholarship, HOPE Career Grants, and more!
