Gwinnett Tech Hosts Spring Job Fair Wednesday, March 23
GWINNETT — On March 23, 2016 Gwinnett Tech students and alumni will have a golden opportunity to meet face to face with more than 50 employers that are actively seeking to hire employees with the very skills taught here at Gwinnett Tech.
The Career Fair will take place on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Lawrenceville Campus in Buildings 100, 200 and 300. Employers on-site will be seeking to fill internships, seasonal positions and full and part-time jobs. A few of the companies expected include: Curtis 100, Batson-Cook Construction, Gwinnett County Public Schools, Hire Dynamics, NCR Corporation, SteelFab Inc., Verizon Wireless, Stream Realty Partners, Well Fargo, and American Hole ‘n One.

Students are encouraged to research participating employers in advance via GTC CareerLink. There you will find employer profiles, available positions, majors recruited, key statistics, and more. Attendees can print out an employer directory in advance to identify target employers and arrange to submit their resumes to attending employers with just one click. Students are reminded to dress professionally and have ample copies of resumes with them on-site.
Harvard University predicts that by 2018, only 33% of all jobs will require a four-year degree. The overwhelming majority of jobs needed will be skilled jobs that require technical skills and training.
Susan Goines, Career Services Coordinator, says, “Since the economic downturn, the job market is rebounding tremendously. Employers are truly interested in the skill sets of Gwinnett Tech graduates.” Goines continues, “This career fair is the ideal place for our students and graduates to meet with key recruiters across the region and explore the many career opportunities available to them. We have invited employers that are eager to meet our students and help them connect to career opportunities that are right for them. This is where our students and alumni witness first hand just how much Gwinnett Tech delivers on our mission to provide a career-focused education for real-world jobs.”
