Gwinnett Tech Influenza Preparedness
At Gwinnett Tech, the safety and well-being of our faculty and students is our top concern. With that in mind, we want to assure you that we are very closing monitoring the H1N1 Swine Flu outbreak and taking steps to safeguard faculty and students. Our administrators and faculty members from our Public Safety and Health Sciences groups are in ongoing contact with local, state and federal health agencies and are monitoring this situation closely. In addition, we are making full use of resources available through the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization in the steps we are taking to safeguard the health of the campus community. The CDC, www.cdc.gov/swineflu, and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) Web site, Ready Georgia, www.ready.ga.gov , are both excellent sources of information for individuals. We will continue to monitor this situation and act with diligence and speed to address the needs of the Gwinnett Tech community in the days and weeks ahead. The college has a detailed pandemic plan with five levels of preparedness. At this point, we have advised faculty, staff and students to take these precautions as specified in our plan:
If different or additional precautions or actions need to be taken, we’ll be in communication immediately via this Web site and direct electronic notifications to faculty, staff and students. |
