Gwinnett Tech to Host Gwinnett PROBE College Fair
September 16, 2009 Gwinnett Technical College will host the Gwinnett PROBE College Fair at the Gwinnett Center on Wed., Sept. 23, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., giving high school students and parents the chance to explore a wide range of college options under one roof. PROBE is the free, organized college fair tour that unites representatives from non-profit educational intuitions with more than 45,000 Georgia high school students and their families each year. As the host of the Gwinnett PROBE Fair, Gwinnett Tech will have a full team of admissions and financial aid specialists on hand to meet with students and parents, answer questions, schedule campus tours and visits, and provide information about the college’s programs of study. Gwinnett Tech offers more than 140 associate degree, diploma and certificate options that can be finished in two years or less – in program areas including healthcare, computer sciences, business, early education and more. GTC students are eligible for either the Hope Scholarship or Grant. More than 130 additional colleges and universities will also exhibit at the Gwinnett PROBE Fair, including institutions from both the University System of Georgia and the Technical College System of Georgia. Last year, approximately 1,400 students and parents attended the event. Students and parents attending will have the opportunity to browse the college and university exhibits and discuss with representatives topics including financial aid, housing, programs of study, admission’s requirements, scholarships and campus life. Last year, more than 250 private and public colleges and universities, technical colleges and ROTC participated in PROBE fairs. The PROBE fairs are a program of the Georgia Education Articulation Committee, Inc., organized to spark interest in post-secondary education by bringing together students, parents, counselors, administrators and representatives of nonprofit post-secondary educational institutions.
