Gwinnett Tech Photography Graduates Present Portfolio Show
Student Showcase Opens Sept. 12; View at ART Station and in Campus Media Gallery

Lawrenceville - September 09, 2009

The 2009 graduates of Gwinnett Technical College’s Commercial Photography program will display their work in a portfolio presentation, starting with an opening celebration from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m., on Sept. 12, at ART Station in Stone Mountain.

The portfolio presentation includes portrait, still life, photojournalism, landscape and fine arts projects from each student. The show will continue at ART Station through Oct. 31, and will then move to Gwinnett Tech’s on campus Media Gallery beginning Nov. 5 for additional public viewing.

“This show is the culmination of two years of hard work for our commercial photography students,” said Kim Harkins, commercial photography program director, Gwinnett Tech. “The show will highlight their collegiate body of work and showcase their unique points of view.”

Gwinnett Tech offers an associate in applied science degree in commercial photography, which includes a specialization in digital imaging. The program, which can be completed in two years, provides a rich multi-disciplinary environment for digital and traditional media instruction, research and practice. Lab and studio areas are equipped with cutting-edge digital equipment, Apple computers and Epson printers, along with traditional studio equipment and lighting.

ART Station is located at 5384 Manor Drive, Stone Mountain, Ga., 30086, in the historic Village of Stone Mountain. Call 770-469-1105 or visit www.artstation.org. The portfolio show is held in conjunction with Atlanta Celebrates Photography.
