Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Imagine a career where you can show a mother her baby for the first time, assist in the diagnosis of someone who is ill, or document the blood flow to various parts of the body! In the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, you have an opportunity to learn how to use specialized equipment that directs sound waves into a patient's body to produce dynamic images of organs, tissues, blood flow and fetal anatomy. These images are used to assess various medical conditions. You'll learn about various types of sonography so that you can become expert in this field.

The Gwinnett Tech Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS).
