Jermaine Whirl Named Dean of Business and Art & Design at Gwinnett Tech
Jermaine Whirl is Gwinnett Technical College's new Dean of Business and Art & Design.
Whirl joined GTC this spring and will oversee the college's programs in accounting; business management; business administrative technology; marketing; culinary arts; hotel, restaurant and tourism management; photography; interiors; cosmetology and horticulture.
"We are delighted to welcome Dean Whirl to Gwinnett Tech. He brings strong experience in curriculum development, adult education and organizational leadership and we look forward to his contributions," said Dr. Victoria Seals, vice president of academic affairs, Gwinnett Tech.
Prior to joining Gwinnett Tech, Whirl was the Dean of Adult Education at Savannah Technical College and a visiting professor in Georgia Southern University's College of Business Administration. Earlier, he served as an assistant professor of Business Economics at East Georgia State College.
Now a doctoral candidate at Valdosta State University, Whirl earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Charleston Southern University, a Master of Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University and a bachelor's degree from Winthrop University.
Whirl was active in community and civic organizations in the Savannah area and looks forward to becoming involved in his new Gwinnett community.
