Horticulture is a Growing Field

Use your creativity to dig up a career in which you will bloom!

Once thought of as a 'sweaty job' -- horticulture is crossing traditional boundaries and becoming more attractive to students of all kinds. Traditionally, careers like landscaping and installation were male-dominated. But with more opportunities in management, design and overseeing/contracting of installations, women are moving more steadily into the profession.

Horticulture also provides an outlet for creativity and artistry. Gwinnett Tech's horticulture programs combine the practical skills with the creative aspects needed to be successful in the business.

Graduates from Gwinnett Tech's horticulture program earn jobs as landscape contractors, designers, or managers; floral designers, greenskeepers, groundskeepers, lawn service technicians, nursery workers, greenhouse managers, garden center managers and interior landscapers.

The Environmental Horticulture associate in applied science degree can be completed in five semesters; the diploma can be completed in four semesters.

Get started in a career you love! Contact Gwinnett Tech at 770-962-7580 or apply online.
