Gwinnett Tech EMT Program Ranked Among Nation's Top 20 in Providing a High ROI to Students
Gwinnett Technical College has been recognized for offering an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program with a significantly higher than average return on investment. Fire Science Online has released its list of the 80 EMT Degree Programs with High ROI, ranking GTC 18th in the nation.
Gwinnett Tech offers an associate degree in Paramedicine and a diploma in Paramedicine and EMT Professions, plus certificate options for Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT). Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the National Registry of EMT's Examination for national certification and receive state licensure.
GTC's EMS program, the first in the state be nationally accredited, is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. View admissions deadlines and entrance requirements for the program.
"Our goal at Gwinnett Tech is to train highly qualified and motivated emergency services professionals who can meet the needs of employers in serving and caring for citizens in an emergency situation. It's good to know that the quality of education and training we provide is recognized as a highly valuable investment for our students," said Steven Moyers, Dean of Health Sciences.
Gwinnett Tech graduates, who consistently earn top scores on national licensing exams, are in high demand among regional emergency service employers, said Moyers.
There are over 1,100 colleges in the U.S. that offer Emergency Medical Technician programs, according to Fire Science Online. College's making the top RIO list met these criteria:
- Colleges with average annual tuition below $10,000 only, according to IPEDS
- Must have at least 10,000 active students enrolled
- Average annual salary (for EMTs in each school's respective state) greater than $30,000
- Fully-accredited schools only
- Public and Private schools included
- U.S. colleges only
