First Leadership Academy Class of Peach State Federal Credit Union Graduates Program at Gwinnett Tech

Leadership skills are highly sought after in the workplace. For 12 employees of Peach State Federal Credit Union, it is now a way of their working life after completing a customized training program at Gwinnett Technical College.

The 12 employees, who were chosen by the Senior Management team at Peach State Federal Credit Union, participated in the year-long class to help them grow in their roles at the credit union. The curriculum for the program was customized to emphasize the values and goals of the credit union and included such topics as listening skills, dealing with difficult people and business ethics. This was the first group to complete the program.  Another group of employees is set to begin the course in 2016.

After 12 months of classes at Gwinnett Technical College, the group has “formed a new network of resources,” Peach State Federal Credit Union President/CEO, Marshall Boutwell, told the group. Plans have been made for the group to reconvene regularly and discuss real world applications of the topics presented in the Leadership Academy program.

Gwinnett Technical College offers a variety of customized and continuing education programs to individuals and businesses in the area. In addition to credit classes, the college offers a comprehensive suite of programs and services for businesses of all sizes, plus an experienced team of economic development and training specialists focused on meeting business needs.
