Missed this year’s INSPIRE Lecture featuring Super Bowl Champion turned successful restaurateur Adalius Thomas? His stirring speech to students, faculty, staff and the community is now available online to view, highlighting his rise from playing both football and basketball at Central Coosa High School in Rockford, Alabama, to his current career successfully launching several restaurants in the Southeast.
He attended the University of Southern Mississippi, where he was a defensive end and earned Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year honors his junior and senior year, and Liberty Bowl MVP in 1999. In a professional career that lasted 10 seasons and included 517 tackles, Thomas was named twice to the Pro Bowl and twice to the All-Pro team and was a part of two Super Bowl teams, including winning a championship ring in Super Bowl XXXV. Now five years out of the limelight of professional sports, Thomas is applying the business savvy gained with his bachelor’s degree in sport management to the food industry.
