Become Work Ready!
 

By earning Georgia's new Work Ready Certificate through Gwinnett Tech, you'll stand out from the crowd and be on your way to landing a great job.

The Work Ready program is easy to access and enables eligible individuals to take the free skills assessment and earn a Work Ready certificate, indicating their skill and knowledge levels to potential employers. Skills assessed include Applied Mathematics, Locating Information, and Reading for Information. Please note that the eligibility requirements for the free skills assessment have been changed.*

If you wish to prepare before taking the assessments or prepare to retake an assessment, a free online Skills Gap Training (WIN) program is available. Please email workready@gwinnetttech.edu for the website address and PIN to access the training. NOTE: Re-takes of any assessments are available only on a self-pay basis as follows:

  • $15.00 for one assessment

  • $25.00 for two assessments

  • $35.00 for three assessments

*To determine eligibility to take the free skills assessment, please check one of the following:
I have been unemployed at some point during the past 12 months. Please note: At time of assessment, you will need to provide one of the following: 1) official proof as issued by the Department of Labor within the last year (such as unemployment benefits pay stubs, verification of direct deposit of benefits or other documentation) or 2) official notice of TANF benefits for the unemployed received within the last year or 3) A letter of separation from your previous employer dated within the last year.


I am applying for a job listed on the Work Ready Connect website. Please note: At time of assessment, you will need to provide the code of the job that you're applying for. Eligible jobs (and related codes) may be found at www.workreadyconnect.org.


I am a veteran of military service. Please note: At time of assessment, you will need to provide an official copy of your military discharge papers.

Your US Passport OR both your GA Driver's License and your Social Security card must be presented to the proctor at time of assessment.

Males born on or after January 1, 1960 must also present your Selective Service Registration card or verification of registration (See https://www.sss.gov/RegVer/wfVerification.aspx)

   

If you do not meet any of the eligibility requirements above, assessments are available on a self-pay basis. For self-pay, only GA Driver's License or other photo ID must be presented at time of assessment. No one will be admitted more than 15 minutes after the assessment is scheduled to begin.
