Gwinnett Tech Hosts Atlanta Science Festival Event
Explore the Science Behind 30 Different Careers, March 27, 6 to 9 p.m.
Ready for a great career? Gwinnett Technical College has it down to a science! Learn how science can be your launching pad for more than 30 different careers and explore the science behind the scenes through tours and interactive activities at Science Works, March 27, 6 to 9 p.m., on the Gwinnett Tech campus.
The event is free. Pre-registration is recommended at www.GwinnettTech.edu/ScienceWorks. Gwinnett Tech is located at 5150 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville, GA 30043.
Gwinnett Tech's Science Works is part of the Atlanta Science Festival, a weeklong celebration of local science and technology, from March 22 – 29. The Festival will offer a range of activities during eight days at more than 50 locations across Atlanta. Performances, exhibits, lectures, demonstrations, workshops, guided walks and more will bring together local scientists, experts, teachers, and entrepreneurs with area communities of young people, families and adults who are interested in the role science and technology plays in today's world.
At Gwinnet Tech, the focus will be on the science behind more than 30 of today's most in-demand and diverse careers – from healthcare to horticulture.
Each career field will feature an interactive activity for guests – hands-on opportunities like mock surgeries, EMS simulators, DNA labs, driving simulators and more. Working professionals and program directors for each career will be available for questions, as will Gwinnett Tech admissions representatives. This program has special information for veterans and displaced workers.
Also on hand: special guests Bunsen & Beaker, Chopper and others; food trucks; and trolley transportation around campus.

The Atlanta Science Festival is a collaboration of scientific, educational, corporate, civic, cultural and community organizations led by founding partners Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology and the Metro Atlanta Chamber.
Festivities will conclude on Saturday, March 29, at Centennial Olympic Park with a family-friendly, all-day event offering non-stop, big-bang activities; out-of-this-world experiments; pop-up interactive exhibits; mind-bending games; and a full lineup of science-oriented live entertainment ? plus so much more. The Exploration Expo is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission is free.
