Gwinnett Tech's Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Offers Free OB Ultrasounds
Gwinnett Tech's Diagnostic Medical Sonography program now offers OB ultrasounds at no charge. The service is offered on campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Each ultrasound is performed by one of the program's students on women volunteers who are currently 18-32 weeks pregnant, working alongside a supervising Gwinnett Tech faculty member. No first trimester sonograms offered. All participants must have the provided permission slip signed by their physician to present at the appointment.
Dates and times vary per semester. For more information and to schedule an appointment, contact Ami Bryant at email@example.com 678-226-6966 or Veranda Edmondson at firstname.lastname@example.org 678-226-6687. Gwinnett Tech is located at 5150 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville, GA 30044.
"By offering our students this opportunity for hands-on learning in a controlled setting, our instructors can give one-on-one instruction, actually guiding the student's hand, teaching them to acquire the necessary diagnostic images needed by physicians," says Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Director Kim Strong, BA, AS, RDMS, RVT.
Gwinnett Tech's Diagnostic Medical Sonography program teaches students to use imaging equipment that directs sound waves into a patient's body to diagnose various medical conditions. The college offers a degree program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Gwinnett Tech offers more than 50 degree, diploma and certificate options that can be completed in two years or less. For more information, visit www.GwinnettTech.edu or call 770-962-7580.
