Como en la mayoría de los colleges, el costo de la matrícula depende del número de horas crédito que usted tome en cada semestre. En Gwinett Tech, su matrícula tiene un tope de 15 horas crédito, aunque usted puede tomar hasta 21 horas crédito (previa aprobación).

A partir del semestre de otoño de 2011, la carga completa de materias con un horario semestral de 12 horas costará $1,130. Si su carga de materias no es de 12 horas crédito, consulte abajo la tabla para calcular el costo que tendrá su matrícula.

Observaciones sobre los costos de admisión y matrícula

  • Los costos relacionados con la admisión (admisión, medios, estacionamiento/seguridad, actividades estudiantiles, instalaciones) tienen un precio único que se decide semestralmente para cada estudiante independientemente del número de horas crédito que se tomen.
  • La matrícula de los estudiantes no residentes es el doble de la matrícula que deben pagar los residentes del estado de Georgia. La matrícula de los estudiantes extranjeros es cuatro veces el monto que deben pagar los residentes del estado de Georgia.
  • Al inicio de cada semestre se prevé un período para admisiones tardías. Los estudiantes que se inscriban durante este período deberán pagar un recargo de $30 por concepto de admisión tardía.
  • Además de la admisión y la matrícula, en el caso de algunos cursos o materias podría exigirse el pago de una tasa de reembolso para materiales o trabajos prácticos.

Comprobación de su presencia legal en los Estados Unidos
A partir del 1.º de enero de 2012, todos los estudiantes que aspiren a pagar la matrícula como residentes del estado deben demostrar que su presencia en los Estados Unidos es legal. Para poder ser tomado en consideración para la matrícula de residente en el estado, deberá presentar los siguientes documentos como prueba de que su presencia en los Estados Unidos es legal:

  • Licencia de conducir vigente expedida por el estado de Georgia en una fecha posterior al 1.º de enero de 2008.
  • Documento de identidad vigente expedido por el estado de Georgia en una fecha posterior al 1.º de enero de 2008.
  • Licencia de conducir o documento de identidad emitidos por un estado que compruebe el estado del inmigrante y solo se expidan a personas que cuya situación en los Estados Unidos sea legal.   • Partida de nacimiento estadounidense certificada que demuestre que el estudiante nació en los Estados Unidos o en un territorio estadounidense. No se aceptan fotocopias.
    • Solicitud Gratuita de Ayuda Federal para Estudiantes (Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA) completada y aprobada para el año de ayuda financiera vigente.
    • Tarjeta de residente permanente válida y vigente (formulario de los Servicios de Inmigración y Ciudadanía de los Estados Unidos [U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, USCIS] 1-151 ó 1-551).
  • Partida de nacimiento de los Estados Unidos en el extranjero emitida por el Departamento de Estado (DS-1350) o un Informe consular de nacimiento en el extranjero (FS-240).
  • Pasaporte de los Estados Unidos vigente.
  • Certificado de ciudadanía de los Estados Unidos (formulario N-560 o N-561 de USCIS ).
  • Certificado de naturalización de los Estados Unidos (formulario N-550 o N-570 de USCIS ).

Los estudiantes que no puedan demostrar la legalidad de su presencia en los Estados Unidos no podrán optar a ser considerados para pagar la tarifa de matrícula que corresponde a los residentes en el estado, independientemente del tiempo que lleven viviendo en Georgia. Además de demostrar la legalidad de su presencia en los Estados Unidos, para poder optar a la matrícula para residentes del estado, los estudiantes deberán cumplir los requisitos establecidos en el Procedimiento y la Política V.B.3 de la Junta del TCSG para justificar su clasificación como residentes del estado. Los estudiantes que inicialmente sean clasificados como no residentes del estado y posteriormente soliciten y obtengan el cambio de su lugar de residencia para convertirse en residentes del estado también deberán cumplir los requisitos de verificación.

Exoneración para estudiantes de la tercera edad
Los residentes de Georgia mayores de 62 años de edad tienen derecho a inscribirse en cursos con créditos de Gwinnett Tech solo si hay cupos disponibles durante el período abierto para admisiones tardías. (Esta norma no se aplica a los cursos en los que participan organizaciones externas o de enseñanza individual y cursos de educación continua o sin créditos.) Los estudiantes de la tercera edad están exonerados del pago de matrícula, pero deben pagar los costos de admisión, laboratorio y cursos especiales, de ser procedente. Asimismo, los estudiantes de la tercera edad exonerados pueden elegir asistir a cursos en calidad de oyentes.
