Game On with Simulation/Game Developer Program
Get your head in the game! Gwinnett Tech's Simulation/Game Developer Program puts you ahead of the game in one of the hottest fields across the country.
The sky-rocketing demand by companies needing skilled game developers and by individuals wanting to break into the market prompted Gwinnett Tech to add the simulation/game developer program to its roster.
The result is an in-demand gaming program that prepares students with sought-after skills in three major areas: game design, game physics and Artificial Intelligence. Together these aspects are what give a game its "real-life" feel, ensuring, for instance, that "people" don't walk through walls, providing true-to-life scenarios. Students learn to apply these skills to basic games on up to multiplayer and massive multiplayer online games.
In contrast to courses that focus on the aesthetics or graphics of games, Gwinnett Tech's program is unique in that it offers a program that truly focuses on the fundamental nuts and bolts of game design and development making it the first college in the state's network of technical colleges to introduce such a program.
Students come out of the simulation/game developer program as attractive candidates for entry-level positions with game designers and game development teams.
The associate degree, diploma and certificate program courses are designed to be completed as a sequence, taking from four to eight quarters (two years) to complete.
