Workforce Investment Act

Workforce Investment Act

We can help you re-train and get back to work! Gwinnett Tech is your source for Workforce Investment Act (WIA) training.

The Workforce Investment Act was established in 1998 to prepare youth, adults and dislocated workers for entry and re-entry into the workforce. WIA training funds are designed to serve laid-off individuals, older youth and adults who are in need of training to enter or re-enter the labor market.

Funding for WIA training through the ARWB (Atlanta Regional Commission Workforce Board) is provided for residents who live in, or have been laid off from their jobs in, Cherokee, Clayton, Douglas, Fayette, Gwinnett, Henry and Rockdale counties. WIA services are available to dislocated (laid off) workers or Income Eligible Adults. The WIA office can also make referrals for customers outside of our service area to the appropriate providers.

WIA provides financial assistance for tuition, fees, books and direct training costs for eligible residents.

Not sure if you qualify? Please contact the WIA office at 678-226-6664 for further information.
