What is a Construction Manager?

Construction managers are responsible for a construction project from start to finish and everything in-between. They coordinate and supervise a wide variety of projects, including the building of all types of public, residential, commercial, and industrial structures, as well as roads, memorials, and bridges. Construction managers oversee specialized contractors and other personnel. They ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. Construction managers work closely with owners and other building specialists, such as architects, civil engineers, and a variety of trade workers.

Prerequisite Courses
Students must verify degree level proficiency in Reading, Writing, and Math before program admission.

  • Commercial Construction Estimator Certificate
  • OSHA Certificate

  • Degree: 5 semesters

Application Process

Applicants to the Commercial Construction Management Program must meet all Admissions requirements; complete an application and pay the application fee. Apply to Gwinnett Technical College at and submit all transcripts from high school and previous college work, and take the ACCUPLACER test if required.
