Gwinnett Advancement Program (GAP)

If you’re 16 to 24 years old and left high school without receiving a diploma, it’s not too late to turn your life around.

Get your education back on track with the Gwinnett Advancement Program (GAP), a program for students who want to earn their GED® and start college or work.

Am I eligible?

The GAP course is designed for those who have faced adversity but still want to complete their high school education equivalency while learning valuable skills that will help them begin college and find a better job.

To be eligible, you must:

  • be 16 to 24 years old

  • be a resident of Gwinnett

  • score at least a 7.0 on the orientation assessment

  • have a social security number or be able to get one

  • be in the U.S. legally and be eligible to work

What will I do in the program?

The goal of the GAP program is to help you prepare for a successful career and earn the GED® credential. The program includes:

  • Free course prep materials

  • Free GED® exam

  • College transition preparation & education expense assistance

  • Leadership development, life skills and financial literacy

  • Career exploration, work-readiness skills and resume building

  • Internship job training, and work experiences through community partners
